31 Days of Halloween

Yes, I'm still working on that challenge and may be a little behind but that's okay. I gave it a go and I'm okay with that. I used Ink Tense paints and India ink.

The Adventure Continues

Yes, it continues and evolves. Life still wants to throw things at me and some things I can't control. So I work on things I can control. My artwork and my writing. I am ready to do NaNoWriMo this year, starting at midnight November 1st. I will probably meet with my local group for the kickoff. I've missed Halloween again. So I've decided that it is truly a year round thing and will continue making things and figure out an outfit for next year. I'm still working on turning around this year. Working on my own break. Scared to death about it but the end has not been written and I want it to be different than what I've got now. So here's what I've been doing.

I took a Cosmic Smashbook workshop and it's like a journal making class but for personal development. It was fun, like being in kindergarden again. Lots of paint and glue. In the center of the journal, we wrote what we wanted to accomplish, our dreams, etc and then painted our hands over to protect those dreams. We can add photos, poems, pictures from magazines, anything that will help us reach our goals.

My goofy pic. I will work more on my cover. Yes, that's a pirate. That's how I see my adventure.

My first page will be one of fear and good feel arrows being shot into it. To get rid of the fear that is holding me back. The fear of failure, success, just being.

Here is the center of my journal where I wrote my dreams and goals. I traced and painted my hands over those dreams and goals.

This is an in progress project. Just like I'm a work in progress. This whole process is interesting and I will update as often as I can.

In Progress

Got a couple of different things in progress. I submitted pics of my work to an upcoming craft fair and I want to be ready. New skellie pins waiting to be turned and stuffed.

A little further along on these guys. I don't know what to call them yet.

Stuffed hats ready for bat ornaments.

A Little Behind

Where do I start? Okay, with some new drawings. Wow. It's been weird because of the constant battles. That's another post. Still working on 31 Days of Halloween and Inktober.

Here's the beginning of one of two projects. I forgot to take pics of the first project and I will make sure I do that tonight.

I also started two new ornament designs and hope to get the prototypes sewn up tomorrow. I'm hoping that my creative mojo is waking up. So much to do.

Friends

Yesterday I met with a friend I haven't talked to in a month of Mondays and more than a few Harvest Moons. We talked for about three hours and it was as if we hadn't had a break in our friendship. We caught up on just about everything. I met Dan O when I first moved south at a writer's meeting and we hit it off. I told him what I was up to, was doing, wanted to do and not once did he say not to do anything. Not once. He offered some suggestions but never said I should do anything. That felt good. That's the kind of friend everyone should have. Someone who will be in your corner no matter what. He liked my drawings and I let him read some of the synopsis of my short stories and he's going to send me some sites where I can send them. Awesome. And he even called me a 'Badass', in a good way. I thanked him. Because I am. I'm also a freaking super nova.

I finally finished one of three sketchbooks that I am to fill up by the end of the year. Something I have to do before I can buy a new sketchbook. And Dan O saw the sketchbook to verify that I had done so. Here's the book that I've had since high school. It's old and wasn't filled up until now.

I've got two more to go. See ya later.

31 Days Continues

Yes, the challenge continues and here are two more drawings. Both I used a fountain pen and ink with a little red.

Wow!

After a week of errands, paying bills, laundry, and that goofy hurricane, I can finally get back to creating. Today I'm feeling a little bit sleepy and just want to chill out before getting the week started. I am allowed that. I woke up early and started writing. Maybe that's why I'm tired. But if I didn't wake up at 4 AM to write things down, I would have totally forgotten everything. And that was after I had just gotten back to sleep after a goofy bird started chirping at 2 AM. Seriously? He must have been blown off course and didn't realize what time zone he was in. I made a spinach pie this morning and just got it out of the oven and now have on a crock pot of beans. I made rice yesterday. So now I don't have to cook for a few days. I need a nap.

More of my 31 Days of Halloween. Pumpkin Kid is ready for bed.

31 Days of Halloween

Or Inktober. I'm a little behind but I did do 20 voodoo dolls and they have been delivered to their destination. I hope they all sell and find good homes. Here's my ink drawing with a bit of red.

I'm Here! I'm Here!

Yeah, yeah. Running errands, paying bills, grocery shopping, and doing laundry... yeah, I think I'm good for awhile. I got something done! Woo hoo! 20 voodoo doll ornaments/pins. Everyone has been signed and dated and I only have to do hang tags. Tomorrow.  I'm behind on my 31 DOH but will catch up, tomorrow. I guess this could be a part of my 31 DOH. Yeah.

New Challenge

Yes, I'm crazy. I'm doing a 31 Days of Halloween challenge this month. I want to do a black, white, and red drawing or painting each day in October. We'll see what happens. Here's number 1. India ink with permanent marker.

Happy October!

It's finally here! October! I've been waiting a whole year for it to arrive again. We're still getting some warm temps here in the south and I hope that stops soon. And there is that pesky Matthew hanging out in the ocean. Let's hope he doesn't make landfall. Matthew the hurricane.

Aren't these pretty? I took this pic outside Trader Joe's. I'm going to have to get some of the smaller decorative gourds. Sketch them or paint them. I am so excited about this time of year. The adventure is in full swing. This is going to be a busy month for filling up those sketchbooks, Halloween things, dolls, paintings, another challenge, and some stitch work. I will have to do more walking too. Crunch some leaves. Scare some chipmunks.

Whoa!

Okay, wow, geesh!  This year, this crazy year is going by so fast. A lot of stuff have been happening and I'm treading water. I'm h...
